$10,000  |  The Honorable Peter Fox Cohalan Scholarship in American History For Nassau and Suffolk County High School Seniors

This Scholarship is awarded to a graduating Nassau and Suffolk County high school senior who will pursue an undergraduate degree with a concentrated study of a minimum of 24 credit hours in American History and/or American Government. 

The awardees must attend a 4 year accredited college or university or academic institution subject to Board approval. 

BIO FOR 2018 RECIPIENT ADAM AVRAM:

Adam Aviram has always had a strong interest in history and government, taking five AP Social Studies in high school, and holds the title of a National AP Scholar.  Dedicated to community service, Adam is a member of CTeen, a Jewish youth group focused on education and volunteering. He won the CTeen Leader of the Year Award for Outstanding Commitment and Community Service, which was presented to him by Huntington Town Councilwoman Susan Berland. In addition to history and volunteer work, Adam loves music.  He has played Level Six NYSSMA solos on both Clarinet and Classical Guitar, and also enjoys playing the mandolin and composing music. Adam will be attending the Joint Program between Columbia University and The Jewish Theological Seminary.
