Jewish Historical Society of Long Island

Jewish Historical Society of Long Island is the central repository for records and artifacts pertaining to Jewish history in Nassau and Suffolk counties.  Our mission includes gathering, preserving and sharing this information with the public through unique displays and presentations celebrating our local Jewish history.

In 2025 JHSLI will be honoring the establishment of the first congregation on Long Island incorporated in 1875.  The grant received from RDLG Foundation will support our museum exhibit called 150 Years of Jewish Community on Long Island opening at the Suffolk County History Museum in June.
