The Loyalist Institute at St. Thomas Aquinas College Public and Digital history
The Loyalist Institute at St. Thomas Aquinas College is a public and digital history and research initiative focused on exploring and interpreting the experiences of British Loyalists during the American Revolution, with a particular emphasis on Long Island, New York City, and the lower Hudson Valley. The project engages students, scholars, teachers, and the public in understanding the complexity of loyalty and dissent during the Revolutionary era. Major activities include the development of an open-access database featuring over 10,000 New York loyalists, as well as digital storytelling using ArcGIS StoryMaps, mini-documentaries, and student-led research.
