The New York State Archives Partnership Trust
The New York State Archives Partnership Trust (Trust), established in 1992, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that preserves and makes accessible the archives from nearly 400 years of New York’s colonial and state governments through education, outreach, and preservation programs. The Trust serves all New Yorkers interested in New York’s rich and diverse history, as documented in historical records at the State Archives and in the records of local government and community organizations across the state.
This grant represents the establishment of the RDL Gardiner Foundation Education Resource Center for New York State History at the NYS Archives Partnership Trust, delivering interpretive strategies inherent in Trust programs that transform archival collections into active, accessible learning resources that strengthen historical literacy, public engagement, and promote research. Trust programs within the center include curriculum development, educator training, student research experiences, and public learning initiatives that draw directly from archival collections from Long Island to every corner of the State. Programs include ConsidertheSourceNY.org, New York Archives Magazine, and the new Jr! magazine; professional learning services and workshops; Student Research Award Program; Teacher-in-Residence and Teacher Fellowship opportunities; and the Larry J.
