Wading River Cemetery Association
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF OUR ORGANIZATION:
The Wading River Cemetery Association is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1902, responsible for the care of the two historic cemeteries in Wading River. The Wading River Cemetery is located on N. Wading River Road and dates back to 1849. It is the Association’s mission, in this cemetery, to continue to provide Wading River residents a reverent place for the burial and memorialization of their loved ones. We are also guardians of Oliver’s Hill Cemetery located on Sound Road (Circa 1696).
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:
The project will not only restore the monuments of some of the earliest Wading River settlers in our historic Oliver’s Hill Cemetery, it will also include restoring two historic monuments in the Wading River Cemetery, one of which is a veteran of the Revolutionary War and the other which dates back to the early 1800s.
